David Birch was back at Money 20/20 in Las Vegas last week talking all things AI which was exhausting! They now have a full day on Sunday as well as Monday and Tuesday and we stayed through Wednesday morning to have our last set of meetings.
David had his name up in lights on stage twice with his Consult Hyperion hat on this year…

David did a fireside chat about AI in financial services with Sophia Bantanidis from Citi. The feedback they had included “absolutely brilliant” and “compelling perspective” (and that was Accenture!).

David’s second appearance on stage was on the Off The Record stage where they had a strict limit of 40 people in the audience, no press and no one was allowed to bring in their phones. The conversation between Dave, Matt Harris at Bain Capital Ventures and Kirsty Rutter at Lloyds Banking Group was supposed to be private information for insiders only! In fact, it was 40mins of absolutely first class informed comments on one of the most interesting topics in retail banking right now which is what happens when customers get AI. The audience loved it and again the feedback was incredible.

David also recorded a podcast live at the event with Eyal Sivan (“Mr. Open Banking”), Michelle Beyo from Open Finance Network Canada and, Don Cardinal, from FDX. They discussed the impact of the newly announced CFPP 1033 rules otherwise known as the Consumer Personal Data Right.
