Wow! What a week at Money 20/20 Asia in Bangkok where co-author, Victoria Richardson, and I launched our new book: Money in the Metaverse – Digital Assets, Online Identities, Spatial Computing and Why Virtual Worlds Mean Real Business!

The week started with John Ryan’s third PayEd Payments Express which explored the Damnoen Saduak Floating and Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub),as well as visiting some farming and commerce locations to experience elements of payments in Thailand. The topic of the day was the “Future of Payments in Thailand”:

“There were learnings about salt and coconut production, as well as sampling of commerce in the floating and railway markets. But the important topics du jour were “What is off-line CBDCs and why will it matter in the future?” David Birch and “What is QR code Prompt Pay, and what is its role in hashtagSuperWallets” Brett King.

This was a fitting way to warm-up before the following 3 days of Money20/20 Asia”

On day 3 of the Money 20./20 Asia event in Bangkok, David Birch took to the Pathways Stage to take part in a panel called ‘From Pixels to Profits: Monetizing the Metaverse – Opportunities and Challenges’. Money 20/20 described the session:

The panel was moderated by Micky Tesfaye, Content Lead, Money 20/20 and Dave was on stage with Victoria J. Richardson, Chief Operating Officer, Meeco who is also the co-author of the new book!
