Auckland

Following on from last week’s expeditions in Melbourne, this week David Birch has continued his tour with a trip to Auckland, New Zealand to continue his discussions about the changing landscape of Digital Identity with his friends at Payments NZ and Mattr.

Sydney

His next stop, was to head back to Australia but this time stopping off in Sydney to take part in Fintech Australia’s Pre-Intersekt event which took place at the Stone & Chalk Scale Up Hub. David Birch was a panellist alongside Victoria Richardson (Chief Operating Officer at Meeco) and Andrew Black (Managing Director at ConnectID) where they discussed, ‘where identity is now and where it might be going in the future’.

As Fintech Australia pointed out,

Fintech has redefined the way we interact with money, and at the core of this transformation lies the concept of identity

so it was a fascinating discussion moderated by Rehan D’Almeida of Intersekt. John Ryan noted that the panellists ‘started a conversation about digital identity but ended it in the metaverse’

PayEd Fintech Cruise

Next up on the agenda is PayEd’s Fintech Cruise aboard William The Fourth from Newcastle, Australia. The topic for the cruise is ‘Digital Identity on the High Seas’ so if you’ve ever wondered how to check the identity of Jack Sparrow then you might just be in luck!
